Bali is the perfect destination for rest, relaxation and most importantly fun – and that’s exactly how my 2 weeks was spent in Nusa Dua and Kuta when I travelled there with family and close friends last September.
“Getting off the beaten track on an ‘Awesome Bali Cycling’ tour was such a highlight of the trip.”
Staying in family friendly resorts was a must and I loved the Novotel at Nusa Dua which had plenty of facilities and activities for the family. Some of our favourite restaurants were just outside the resort within walking distance so we enjoyed plenty of delicious food and family entertainment.
As much as it was tempting to stay poolside, getting off the beaten track on an ‘Awesome Bali Cycling’ tour was such a highlight of the trip. Seeing the local country side, rice patties, visiting a local school (and opening the children’s eyes to what a traditional Balinese school is like) and getting a glimpse into the villages without running water or electricity was certainly eye-opening. It was great for our kids to gain an insight into what Bali life is really like and put into perspective how fortunate they are.
If you’re worried about cycling for 30 kilometers – we had a support vehicle which makes this tour a great option for all ages and cycling levels wanting to experience the Balinenese country side
Best Moment…
Spending quality time with my husband, kids and girlfriends. And the cocktails and pool time!
My Top Tips for Anyone Thinking of Holidaying Here…
Get out of the main tourist areas and spend time in the countryside immersing yourself in culture and community.
Try an out of the way local restaurant.
If you want to avoid the tourist spots, explore more quieter beaches in Candi Dasa or Sanur
