I was one of the lucky consultants to be chosen to experience The” Jahan “ Cruising from Siem Reap to Saigon with Insider Journeys to explore and experience The Magnificent Temples of Angkor & moving sights of Saigon and the Mekong Delta.
We arrived by Vietnam Airlines which was a very good experience complimented by a good selection of food & comfy seating. We were then met by an arrival transfer to our accommodation at the Shinta Mani Club. This property was amazing! The rooms were large & well appointed in a cool Cambodian style with amazing touches everywhere. The staff were amazingly attentive & the breakfast was the best I have had in Asia! We got to explore Angkor Wat by foot during the afternoon and Angkor Thom (The Tomb Raider movie site) which was absolutely fascinating. We were also able to go again and see at sunrise the spectacular mirror image of Angkor Wat by Tuk Tuk at 4.30am! A pretty cool thing to do!
We then joined our cruise ship “The Jahan” to explore the canals and Tonle Sap Lake stopping along the way visiting fish hatcheries, villages, temples, Phnom Pehn (Killing Fields, which were very moving) and on to Saigon. The food on board and the cabins were great. I especially enjoyed the pool on the top deck to cool off after a hard days sightseeing! The 7 Day cruise was absolutely amazing and I can highly recommend anyone young or old to see this part of the world in a nice relaxed pace watching life flow by on the Mekong Delta.

Saigon is a great city to explore with the yummiest Pho I have ever tasted. Roof top bars give you a bird’s eye view over the city as the sun sets and the locals come out to play. We were able to see the Cu Chi tunnels which was fascinating to see how they lived during the conflict.
Prior to departing for home we had some free time to go crazy in the Ben Thahn Market & Saigon CBD shops. Let’s just say I added a few kg’s and to the Vietnam economy in a good way! So if you are looking to enjoy Asia, get up close and personal with the locals, learn a few new phrases, eat some new foods, then come in and see me & I can tell you all about my trip in depth.
